Senator Monguno’s journey began at Monguno Central Primary School, followed by Government Secondary School (GSS) Ngala, where he laid the groundwork for his academic success. He pursued higher education at the University of Maiduguri, earning a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree in 1989, followed by his call to the Nigerian Bar in 1990. His legal career flourished as the Principal Solicitor of Monguno Kura Chambers and as a Senior Lecturer at the Borno State College of Legal Studies.

As a lawyer, academic, and politician, Senator Monguno has long recognized the transformative power of education. His passion for nurturing academic growth inspired him to establish the MT Monguno Educational Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting indigent students and advancing educational opportunities for the less privileged. The foundation serves as a beacon of hope for the girl-child and underprivileged youth in Northern Borno, creating pathways to a brighter future through scholarships, awareness campaigns, and innovative programs.

Throughout his career, Senator Monguno has championed impactful legislation, advocating for reforms in security, governance, and education. Notably, he co-sponsored a bill to amend the Nigerian Constitution to allow independent candidacy, ensuring equitable participation in Nigeria’s democratic process.
