Abba Alkali Goni, an indigene of Marte Local Government Area in Borno State, was born in Monguno town, situated in the Borno North Senatorial District. From an early age, Abba exhibited a passion for education and a commitment to community development, which have become the cornerstones of his distinguished career.
Abba’s educational journey began at Kashim Ibrahim College of Education, Maiduguri, where he earned a National Certificate in Education (NCE) in English and Islamic Studies. During his time there, he demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, serving as the President of the Student Union Government (SUG) from 2010 to 2011.
He furthered his academic pursuits at the University of Maiduguri, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A. Ed) in English. Abba’s thirst for knowledge led him to achieve a Master of Arts (M.A.) in English Language from the same institution. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of English and Literary Studies at the University of Maiduguri, where he also serves as a Lecturer, mentoring and inspiring the next generation of scholars.
Abba’s dedication to improving education in Northern Borno has been recognized through his appointment as the Pioneer Secretary of the Mohammed Tahir Monguno Educational Foundation. This non-profit organization, founded by Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno, focuses on providing scholarships and educational opportunities to underprivileged students in Northern Borno. Under Abba’s stewardship, the Foundation has become a beacon of hope, fostering access to quality education and empowering youth to achieve their potential.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Abba Alkali Goni is a devoted family man, married and blessed with children. His passion for education, coupled with his unwavering commitment to community development, continues to shape his impactful contributions to the educational advancement of Northern Borno.
